Now this gonna be great, lightweight, easy solution for us to actually get our bikes on the road with us and get ourselves to the trail without actually affording too much issue of stability and the other issues we might run into. Now taking a look, we do have a nice platform rack with us today and with the frame contact here, unfortunately, if you're looking a way of getting those carbon frames to the bike trails with you this will not be a great option as we do have frame contact and that can lead to deteriorating our carbon frames. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Road Runner four-bike carrier on our 2020 Cadillac Escalade. As you can see, we do have a dual arm support hanging-style bike rack with us today. So if you're looking a way of getting those carbon frame bikes to your destination, unfortunately, this won't be the option for you as we do have multiple frame contacts. So any frame contact will deteriorate that carbon frame bike. Combined with this dual arm support system though, we are getting a lot of, we mentioned there's three points of contact, that's gonna reduce our sway to our right and our left, as well as reducing our sway as our bikes are in together, and that's actually a great aspect of this bike that, bike rack, that we'll get into later. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Cadillac XT4- Video
Ryan: Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Cadillac XT4, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Premium Hitch-mounted Bike Rack. So the rack that we have here today can hold up to a total of four bikes, but if you're looking to carry an additional one, there's a five bike version available as well. Now with that being said, kind of my first impressions, I think this going to be a great, manageable, easy way to carry around a lot of bikes. And honestly, I think, if you're someone that likes to leave their bike rack on maybe through the week and not have to deal with it when the weekend rolls around and you want to go ride, I think this actually looks pretty good on the back of the Cadillac as well.So before we get too carried away, I just want to address one of the big questions that we always get asked in regards to hitch-mounted bike racks, and that's if you're going to be able to have full access to the back of your SUV. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Cadillac XT5- Video
Hey guys, today we have a 2019 Cadillac XT5 and we're going to test fit the Kuat NV 2.0, 2-Bike Platform Rack. Now this mounts to your 2"x2" receiver on your Cadillac. It's going to let you haul up to two bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you want to take them. Now the bike itself is held in on two different points of contact. We have a ratchet strap on the back wheel, securing it onto the platform, then up front we're going to have this wheel hook securing the top of the wheel, forcing it down into the wheel tray down here. And those two points of contact, you can see are very solid, your bike's not going to go anywhere.Now let's go ahead and take the bike off, but before we do that I want to show you guys the tilt-away feature. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Cadillac XT5- Video
Hey guys. Today we have a 2019 XT5. We're gonna do a test fit of a Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 bike platform rack.This two bike platform rack mounts to your two inch by two inch hitch receive bar on your Cadillac and it allows you to haul up to two bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you want to take them.Now a really cool feature about this bike rack is that, while we have it in a bike configuration, if we wanted to we could add on a two bike extension or even a Hollywood Racks add on cargo carrier. Just by removing this cap right here, which is also a reflector. You would insert the cargo carrier, or the two bike addition, to convert it to a four bike rack or a two bike rack with a cargo carrier.You can pick up all three of those, the two additions and this bike rack, as a kit here at eTrailer if you wish.You just get this end cap back on.We can also tow this away from the vehicle to gain access to the trunk of our Cadillac. How we're gonna do that is, there's a pin clip we have to remove first. more

Hey, guys. Today, we have a 2019 Cadillac XT5 and we're gonna do a test fit with a Hollywood Racks sport rider SE four bike platform rack. Now this four bike platform rack mounts to your 2" by 2" receiver that you have on your Cadillac. It allows you to carry up to four bikes to and from the trails or wherever else you want to take them. Now, one of the coolest features in my opinion about this rack is that while we have it in its four bike configuration right now, we can remove this two bike addition. Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Inno Aero Light 4 bike rack, for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. That part number is INH640 three. Now we have a bike installed. Let's take a closer look at some of the features. Now if we start from the outside, we're going to see that coming from the base we have an integrated cable lock that comes around the frame of our bikes, and it inserts into that little column right there. When you want to unlock the cable, all you got do is push up on that tab and you have the insert for your key, and you can unlock the cable and unload your bikes.If we look at the cradles, we're going to see that they can move back and forth like so. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Transfer two bike platform rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches. This is part number TS02G.We already have the bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look here, and this does have a pretty unique design to it. It enables you to tilt the bike rack away with both bikes installed by simply going to this kick plate here in the center as opposed to ones that pin up at the front, which can be a little difficult to get to, especially when you have two bikes attached to it.So, holding onto the bike rack itself, we'll push down on that pedal and tilt it away, and with that, we do now have that full hatch access that we need without having to remove the bikes, and there's enough space on either side to walk up and get what you need. We'll push it back into position by the bike rack, never the bike, until you hear a click.How it's held into place, we're going to have a rear wheel cradle here with a strap and this is adjustable back and forth by loosening the bolt on the inside, and then we'll also have this front wheel cradle here as well as our front wheel hook. Now, being a wheel hook design, that's a nice feature because, unlike the platform styles that grip it by the frame, this one can carry a wider variety of bikes without having to purchase any after-market bike adapter bars although, in some cases with kids' bikes, you may need an adapter to go around the wheel hook itself as it doesn't ratchet down far enough and that is sold separately and you can find that on etrailer.com.Right now, we have a road bike installed on it. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack for Two Inch Hitches, part number: NV22G. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look here.Like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear-hatch access. A little difference is how you actually tilt it away. We have this easy-to-use lever up at the front here that you pull towards you while holding onto the bike rack to tilt it away, which is nice because a lot of the other style bike racks out there will have pins to pull or something that you have to reach through both bikes, and it can be a little awkward to get to while you're trying to lower it away. But with this, it fits right up front. Pull that towards us, while holding onto the bike rack, and let it come down.Now it doesn't look like it tilts away much, but it's plenty of space for our Cadillac here, as there's more than enough space in between the bike and the handle bars and the hatch itself. more

The cradles themselves are adjustable, back and forth and side to side, to accommodate different loading situations and to accommodate different style bikes as well. It's going to grip your bike at three points, will have two rubber straps up at the top and one of to the side to serve as an anti-sway cradle strap. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes attached for rear hatch access. What sets this apart from some of the others is that it has the handle on the end here to release it to be able to tilt it forward. Most bike racks of this style will have the handle up at the front and you may need an extra set of hands to release the handle while you lower the bike away. But with this you simply hold onto the bike rack, pull that handle towards you, and let it come down. more

Today my 2017 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Beta Two bike rack. Part # B202-2. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, the cradles are stationary where they're at and they have these divots here on the top here, and that's actually so that you're cables and brake cables and such can actually fit through there, excuse me, so they don't get crushed up against the frame once the bike is installed. It grips your bike at three points, we're going to have two straps up at the top, and one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and possibly making contact with the bike in front of it. more

SportRack Super EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2011 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ Platform Style, Hitch Mounted 2-Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench and then secure it with a lock on the the other side. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 18" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7" away and we've added about 26" to the overall length of our Cadillac. To access the cargo area we can remove the middle black pin at the base of the rack and tilt the mast out away from the vehicle. You can see when we open the hatch it does not interfere with the bike rack. So I'll load up a bike. more

With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7 inches away. We've added about 17 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now remove the gold pin at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms of the bike rack outward. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 38 inches to the overall length of our SRX. more

Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2 inches away and we've added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing out our cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our SRX. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2011 Cadillac-SRX we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex Hitch-Mounted Hanging 4-Bike Rack, Part Number TH9029. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pinholes well thread in our anti-rattle bolts, and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16 of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 away, and we've added about 13 to the overall length of our Cadillac. Well now lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms of the bike rack outward. more

We can now pull the black pin at the top of the mast, and swing the cradle arms out. more

The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 18 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now remove the gold pin at the top of the mast to swing out our cradle arms. more

Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Helium Aero Hitch-Mounted 2-Bike Rack, part number TH9042. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place and we'll then turn the anti rattle knob at the base of the bike rack to engage the anti rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about twenty one and a half inches of ground clearance at the rear of the bike rack. Lowest point on the bike rack is about sixteen and a half inches from the ground. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about two and a half inches away, and with the cradle arms down, we've added about twenty inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll insert our pin into the pin holes, securing the lock on either side. Then we can turn the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements and see how the two fit together. We have about 15 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 1/2 inches away. We've added about 15 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now lift up on the orange lever at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. more

Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we will be test fitting the Hollywood racks traveler tow-n-go hitch mounted three bike rack, part number HR135. For today's test we will be using the hidden hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232. We will begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. We can then secure it with the pin and clip. Keep in mind the ball mount and hitch pin and clip are sold separately. Now when using the hitch pin there is going to be some wobble. more

Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the Softride Dura parallelogram tilting 4-bike rack, part number SR26247. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 6 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our SRX. To load up a bike, we'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and then secure it with the straps. With our bike all loaded up, we'll go ahead and check for clearance access. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 11 inches away, and we've added about 16 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now loosen up the hand knobs on the upper left and right-hand corner of the mast to swing out our cradle arms. more
